What This Notice Covers
This Privacy Notice explains how BetterAngels ("we," "us," or "our") collects and uses information when you sign up for our early access list. This notice applies only to our pre-launch landing page. When we launch our platform, we will provide a comprehensive Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with our pre-launch site, we may collect:
- Waitlist / supporter list info: Your name and email address (if you provide them), whether you selected "Homebuyer" or "Supporter," and the date/time you signed up.
- Survey responses (optional): Answers about your homebuying journey and preferences (e.g., where you are in the process, your biggest barrier, approximate location you type in, ranges you select, and what feels appealing or concerning).
- Supporter questions (optional): If you choose the supporter path, you may also answer optional questions about who you'd support, comfort factors, and concerns.
- Basic technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, and basic logs to prevent spam/abuse and keep the site running.
We do not collect: Financial information, Social Security numbers, credit reports, or any sensitive personal data at this stage. We do not store your name or email in your browser (localStorage).
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Notify you when we launch - Send you updates about our platform availability, beta testing opportunities, and launch announcements
- Understand interest - Analyze aggregate signup and survey information (e.g., common barriers and regions) to guide what we build and where we launch first
- Prevent abuse - Detect and prevent spam, bots, and fraudulent signups
We will never:
- Sell your email address to third parties
- Send you unrelated marketing from other companies
- Share your information except as described below
How We Share Your Information
Email Communications: We use Brevo (brevo.com) as our email service provider. When you submit our interest form, your name and email address are transmitted to Brevo for the purpose of sending confirmation and waitlist update emails. Brevo is contractually bound to use your information only for email delivery on our behalf and may not use it for any other purpose.
Service Providers: We use the following trusted vendors to operate this site. Each is bound by contract to use your information only to provide services to us.
- Netlify (netlify.com) — site hosting and content delivery
- Formspree (formspree.io) — form submission processing and routing
- Brevo (brevo.com) — email delivery for confirmation and waitlist updates
- Google Analytics (GA4) — aggregate site analytics (pages viewed, traffic sources, time on site)
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or legal process.
Business Transfer: If BetterAngels is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you if this occurs.
Your Choices
Unsubscribe: You may unsubscribe at any time by:
- Clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email we send

Access or Deletion: You may request a copy of your information or ask us to delete it by contacting us at hello@betterangels.io. We aim to respond within 30 days.
California Residents: If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what information we collect and the right to deletion. We do not sell personal information.
How We Protect Your Information
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption: Data transmitted to us is encrypted using industry-standard TLS
- Secure Storage: Information is stored with reputable service providers using encryption at rest
- Access Controls: Only authorized personnel can access the interest list
- Regular Review: We monitor for unauthorized access and suspicious activity
Limitation: No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We will retain your email address until:
- You unsubscribe from our list
- We launch our platform and migrate to our full service (at which point this notice will be replaced)
- We determine not to proceed with the platform (we will notify you and delete your information)
- 24 months of inactivity (we will send a final email asking if you wish to remain on the list)
Children's Privacy
Our interest list is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we discover we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it.
Cookies & Tracking
We use limited browser storage to make the site work smoothly.
- Local storage: We store non-sensitive preferences such as your selected theme and whether you've already submitted a signup form (to reduce duplicates). We do not store your name or email in local storage.
- Cookies: We may use basic cookies for security and fraud prevention. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though it may affect page functionality.
Third-Party Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site (e.g., pages viewed, time on site, and traffic sources). Google Analytics collects data in accordance with Google's privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice as our pre-launch activities evolve. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date above
- Significant changes will be noted in our next email update
- Your continued participation in our interest list constitutes acceptance of the updated notice
When We Launch: This notice will be replaced with a comprehensive Privacy Policy covering our full platform operations. We will notify you via email when this transition occurs.
